The concept of a resort within a resort is well executed and laid out and the Cavalier Resort area consists of 3 hotels within one resort area including the Historic Cavalier Hotel, the Marriott Resort Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the newly opened Embassy Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort.

The near 100 year old historic and ionic Cavalier Hotel which reopened in 2018 after a $85 million remodel sits across the street from the Marriott Resort Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the Embassy Suites Resort Hotel. The Cavalier Beach Club is in the middle of the Marriott and Hilton properties which both face the ocean.

The Historic Cavalier Hotel has a long history of hosting famous guests throughout the decades. The hotel continues to be a popular destination for notable guests to this day. Staying at the resort allows you to experience a piece of American history and soak in the nostalgic ambiance of the property.

The Cavalier resort area boasts multiple award winning options and out of 3,000 restaurants in Virginia Beach on TripAdvisor the top 1-4 are at the resort.

The resort dining ranges from casual to upscale, all of which offer delicious cuisine and impeccable service. Whether you’re in the mood for seafood, traditional American dishes, or an upscale gourmet meal, you’ll find a restaurant at the resort that suits your taste.

Cavalier Hotel Virginia Beach

Inside the Historic Cavalier Hotel Becca has some of the most amazing oysters I have ever eaten in both flavor and presentation. The Eisenhower Tarnished Truth injected filet is a must try as well at Becca along with the Signature Mile High Cake or the Apple Cobbler Cheesecake. The Hunt Room at the Cavalier, is more casual and their Wedge All the Way and Virginia Smoke and Cure with some Hunt Room Brunswick stew are perfect to eat while enjoying the restaurant’s large fireplace.

The History Raleigh Room at the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is a historic and luxurious venue in itself that pays tribute to the hotel’s rich past. The room is named after the steamship Raleigh, which was instrumental in the opening of the Cavalier Hotel in 1927. The History Raleigh Room is adorned with elegant decor and furnishings reminiscent of the 1920s and 1930s.

The History Raleigh Room at the Historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach is a testament to the hotel’s illustrious history and is a perfect destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in a bygone era of luxury and sophistication. The Historic Cavalier Hotel is also, home to its own distillery Tarnished Truth. The distillery is award-winning and creates locally crafted specialty spirits, rye whiskey, bourbon, vodka and gin. Tastings and tours are available Thursday through Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. if you want to enjoy some spirits during your stay.

For more drink and dining options be sure to check out Orion’s Roof on the top floor of the Marriott Resort across the street. This restaurant is one of my favorites and has some of the most spectacular views of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

Anvil Campground has a nice layout with full hookups available and gravel spots. We were most impressed with how friendly everyone we met at Anvil was and how helpful the staff were. From checking in, getting something we forgot at the general store and then checking out the staff of Anvil Campground were awesome.

The general store on property even has a wide variety of essential items for camping to purchase including items to make s’mores, cooking items, games and also, a good selection of RV hook up items. It was nice not to have to leave to go get ice or small things we wanted during our stay we didn’t bring. Their prices were also, reasonable.

Going camping doesn’t just mean going out for a week at a time in the woods it can also, mean short trips or staycations. The cost of renting a spot to camp at Anvil Campground in Williamsburg, Virginia with full hookups is a fraction of the price of the local hotels and all your own personal comforts are included when you bring your RV. The option to bring and cook your own food camping can also, be a money saver especially for a larger family.

It’s great to be able to pack the RV with our essentials and not have to lug them in/out. I’m able to use my favorite shampoo instead of the hotel/travel sized options, feel like everything I’m using is clean and it’s such a wonderful feeling to sleep in our own bed after a long day. I would definitely recommend camping and using the Anvil Campground to others visiting the Williamsburg area.
